Like, from the get-go. Just an idea that deserves consideration… Sanders never enters the presidential race in 2020 and instead agrees with Elizabeth Warren that she run and from the get-go he will immediately be her VP pick.
This to be blunt gives centrist and feminist Dems who were hard-core Hillary another woman candidate. And, of course, a much better one.
If Sanders runs I will be behind him 110% of the way. But I think this is an idea that at the very least should be talked about as a possible way to ensure a progressive victory.
Which leads to the main sticking point some may have: Bernie polls as the most popular nationwide politician right now. If he runs, he could easily win right now. I am dying imagining the next Presidential debates no matter who the Dem nominee is, but imagining Bernie going up against Trump on live TV makes me swoon. However at the end of the day, I can't help but know Warren would kill, too, and there's just something that makes me think her as candidate and Bernie from the start as VP would just somehow have a better chance of winning.
