[Vent] Need to vent about conservative friends and one in particular.

I have some conservative friends who are so judgmental and so assumptive about people that it really depresses me sometimes to be around them.

One in particular really drives me nuts. She just gossips, judges people, and is so pessimistic all of the time. She is a close friend of a friend and all of our kids go to the same school and so I have to be around her more than I would like to.

This one particular person is pretty much the opposite of me in everything and is so quick to verbally judge others that I slightly convulse to have to be around her. Her political views are opposite of mine. She judges dogs based on their breed. She is overly fearful of everything. She assumes the most negative possibility about everyone. Yuck!

I just feel gross being around these people when they start sharing their apathetic, ignorant, and unfairly judgmental views.

I really need to find another group who is more aligned with me.

So my Primary (Virginia) is Tomorrow, but I’m Completely Uneducated About Candidates

Are there any Berniecrats? Or any other advice for the primary? I'm certainly willing to go vote but there haven't been any election materials or anything. According to the local registrar's sample ballets:

Dem Primary: 9th District House of Representives Anthony Flaccavento vs. Justin D. Santopietro.

Rep Primary: Senate E.W. Stewart, E.W. Jackson, Nick J. Frietas

…I don't even understand why there are different races on each of these ballets, what's going on?

Republicans position on healthcare: “It’s not about caring.”

I don't know why this didn't go viral. It fucking blew my mind when he said on that television. It still does. It should be everywhere. "It's not about caring." That is the quintessential Republican statement.

https://youtu.be/5MBMOKqi8qc?t=1h20m20s

Lindsey Graham last fall on the CNN debate outright saying that healthcare "is not about caring." THAT is the Republican view of healthcare.

You can see the look on his face that he knows its wrong.

How do you feel about Bernie?

I find that to connect to one person's reason takes a similar effort as resonating with the feelings of many. Bernie's ability to do both with integrity is rare. He's grounded and out there everyday grinding away at it in addition to really leaning into his job as a Senator. He's a solid leader, a decent person, and is stellar example of someone representative of humanity's historic wisdom tradition. He gets it. He's someone connected with everyday folks and helps me understand I'm part of something much larger than myself. I'm inspired by him to do my best to be my best.

Why do you feel the Bern?
